Workday Integration Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test integrations between Workday HCM and other systems (vendors, carriers, internal systems, and the data warehouse).
• Take ownership of integration work for ongoing projects and suggest improvements when needed.
• Collect integration requirements from HR and technical teams, then document what will be built.
• Support and troubleshoot integrations in production (fix issues, monitor, and improve stability).
• Handle Workday/HR integration support tickets through ServiceNow and work with users to understand the request and estimate effort/time.
• Research and develop new integration solutions using Workday tools such as:
  • Workday Studio
  • EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder)
  • Core Connectors
  • Report Writer / BIRT
  • Workday Extend

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT (or similar) or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with SaaS / Cloud-based HCM or HRIS systems (implementation or integration work).
• Hands-on coding experience with:
  • XML, XSLT
  • Web Services (SOAP/REST)
  • JSON
  • JavaScript
  • Java
• Strong ability to solve complex logic problems, especially XSLT transformations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with multiple teams (HR, business stakeholders, and technical teams) to achieve shared goals.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Experience working with HR support processes and ticket handling (ServiceNow or similar).
